"Work is love made visible", is a quote by Kahlil Gibran, the artist and poet who wrote and illustrated a book called "The Prophet". My father gave me this book when I was born. I wish I still had the original he had given me.
Years later when I was a young artist just out of art school, in a discussion an actress in Manhattan used the phrase although she didn't tell me where it came from. I always thought it was an important quote and was delighted to find that it had come from a book given to me by my father when I was born.
I believe it: Work is love made visible. That's what my customers buy. There has to be love and vision in the work.
