- Monumental sculpture with
the sturdiness, durability, and look of a bronze for
a fraction of the cost.
|
- Built by an artist with 20
years professional experience building human-sized
copper frogs.
|
- Original - O-R-I-G-I-N-A-L.
Every frog sculpture is made by me, Beau Smith. In
the 1980s, my father came up with this design. I
learned from him how to make large copper frogs. The
"Smith Frog" has its copycats. None of them come
close to producing what I produce. The design is
original, and each creation is likewise original, a
one-of-a-kind sculpture.
|
-
Established but not incredibly
famous. If I were incredibly famous, my sculpture
would be incredibly expensive. I'm not and it isn't.
One day, but not today, if you are reading this.
|
-
Affordable. Galleries inflate
the price of art. I sell but through a few direct
galleries. Most of my work I sell direct. You
will not pay an inflated price, through me or anyone that
represents me. Moreover, I deliver value exponential
compared to the price.
|
-
Satisfied
customers. Those who own my frogs love them.
|
- Full of life. This is my
main criteria for fine art: Does it have life? Does
it have presence? A Beau Smith frog is full of life
and presence.
|
- Consistency and uniqueness.
Look at the frogs I've produced. Every one is fresh,
new, original... Every one is unique. Yet the frogs
as a whole have a distinct, Beau Smith frog look.
|
|
|
- The frogs hold their value.
The price of a frog has steadily increased through
the years. Maybe the price will incredibly leap, as
has the price of copper. A slow, steady climb,
however, is more reliable.
|
- Built entirely with
semi-precious, non-corrosive metals. This sculpture
will be around for thousands of years. Your
inhabitants will inherit an intact frog that
undoubtedly has increased incredibly in value. No
joke.
|
- Solid, established
reputation as an artist who delivers high quality
sculpture. My sculptures are collected across the US
and abroad. I am in many public places. I'm
established - but not incredibly famous.
|
- Craftsmanship beyond compare
in this medium. Look around and compare my direct
metal sculpture with that of other artists. What do
you think? I've been doing this professionally for
20 years. I went to a prestigious art school, Rhode
Island School of Design. I've been an artist all my
adult life. I learned how to weld from my dad, who
is also a sculptor. I have tons of experience. I
make magic with the copper.
|
- Rare. I doubt that I will
forever make frogs or that my descendants will make
them. I make only so many a year. At present, I do
this entirely myself, with no help, no
assistants, no factory workers, nothing but me, the
metal, and a few essential tools.
|
- You like it. Am I right? You
like these frogs I make. You might even love them.
If you owned one, you'd love it.
|
Okay, okay. Enough with the
bullet points. I think you get it. My frog is an incredible
value. It is at the current price. It will be even when the
price has increased substantially. My
beautifulfrog site
offers a lot of information and media about the frogs. Here are

The product, though, speaks for itself.
Take a look at some recent frog sculptures:
Sturdy, durable, permanent,
beautiful, fun, whimsical sculpture full of life and presence.
You can own it for the rest of your life, and its presence will
enhance your life. How often can you say that about art? Not
often enough, to my mind. The opportunity you see on this page
is all too rare.
